One of the most stylish weekends in the British summer season, Goodwood Revival is the only historic race meeting to be staged entirely in period dress. We’re delighted to be bringing the Trotter & Deane style to Goodwood by sponsoring the Cooper Car Company and their driver George Shackleton.
A must attend weekend for motoring enthusiasts, Goodwood Revival is one of the most popular motor racing meetings in the UK. A three-day festival, Goodwood aims to recreate the feel of the 1950s, featuring the cars and fashions that would have competed during the track’s 30 years as a professional race circuit.
Alongside the cars, fashion takes centre stage at the event. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in traditional outfits from the 40s, 50s and 60s. That means woollen and tweed suits from the 40s, patterned garments from the 50s and turtlenecks from the 60s.
Trotter & Deane has once again teamed up with the Cooper Car Company to provide their garments for the event. Look out for Trotter & Deane tweed caps, striped shirts and spotted bow ties around the course.
Trotter & Deane last supported the Cooper team back in 2015 and are delighted to be rekindling their excellent working relationship.
Team driver George Shackleton, a descendant of the polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, is a long-standing fan of the Suffolk menswear brand. Based in Suffolk himself, George will be driving car number 24 in the Earl of March Trophy on Super Sunday.
The Cooper Car Company is a car manufacturer and former racing car team. Back in 1955, the Cooper Car Company dominated British Formula 3, at a time when it was at the height of its popularity. Their two drivers, Jim Russell and Ivor Bueb were equally matched and supremely competitive and would go on to finish the season, only one point apart. Jim won the British Championship, while Ivor won the Irish F3 Championship, the Redex Trophy and the Earl of March Trophy at Goodwood.
2019 will see Goodwood pay homage to the Cooper Car Company and their success in motorsport. Sixty years after Jack Brabham’s Formula 1 Championship win in his Cooper T51, they’ll be a procession of some of the company’s greatest machines, including Mini Coopers and their famous racing cars.
